ISS Exam

The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) is one of the most aspired commissions in India, where a majority of the population want to get employed. This is because of the immense amount of job position respect that is involved in UPSC jobs. Every year,UPSC conducts examinations for various positions. In the same procedure, a combined written examination is conducted for the ISS Indian Statistical Services exam.

Indian Statistical Services (ISS) Exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit Grade IV officers for the Indian Statistical Service. ISS Exam is generally conducted in the month of November. ISS is a central government services which are involved in economic planning and analysis through state boards, planning commission and other government owned bodies in the country.

The examination process for these posts will be conducted in all the major cities of India, namely – Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Bhopal, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Chennai, Patna, Cuttack, Shillong, Delhi, Shimla, Dispur, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram. This is to give an opportunity to a large number of candidates to test their candidature for the advertised profiles.

Notification of exam will be published in the month of June every year

Application Procedure

  • Candidates can avail the application form from any of the Post office on payment.
  • Candidates must apply to the following address

Age Limit: The candidate should have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August, 2013 i.e. he/ she should have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1983 and not later than 1st August, 1992. The Upper age limit is relax able for candidates belonging to Scheduled caste/scheduled tribe/ other backward classes and certain other categories.

Educational Qualification-Indian Statistical Service ISS

The candidate must have a valid Post-graduate degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics/ Econometrics.

Candidates who are studying in final year Degree Course and are yet to pass their final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for exam, but they will be required to submit proof of passing by the specified dates published in Commission's Notice for Examination.

Physical Standards for ISS Exam

Candidates should be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2013 as per Regulations put up.

  • General English - 100 marks
  • General Studies - 100 marks
  • General Economics-I - 200 marks
  • General Economics-II - 200 marks
  • General Economics-III - 200 marks
  • General Economics - 200 mark

SELECTION PROCEDURE

 The selection process for the candidates in IES generally consists of various steps. Initially, a written examination is conducted, which shortlists candidates for the interview process. The further selected candidates requires to go through physical fitness stages, document verification procedures and a final medical test before getting the final selection into the system.
