RBI Exam

Reserve Bank of India (R.B.I) conducts examination for the post of Grade A and Grade B officers. The Reserve Bank of India Services Board conducts this exam. Reserve Bank Officers examination is held in the month of December every year.
  • Application Forms and required details will be published in the Employment news/National newspapers in the month of July every year. 
  • Application should be submitted on or before August third week.

Age Limit criteria:

The candidate should be 21-26 years for Bachelor's degree candidates and 21-28 years for Master's degree candidates
  • SC/ST have the age relaxation up to 5 years and OBC have 3 years.
    Educational Qualification for Probationary Officers Examination
  • Bachelor's degree along with 60% marks or an equivalent grade.
  • Master's degree along with 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
  • Doctorate degree with 50% marks in Master's degree or an equivalent grade
  • Chartered/Cost Accountant/ACS with a Bachelor's degree.
  • PG diploma in Management from IIM with a Bachelor's degree.
HOW TO APPLY FOR RBI EXAM

Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only) is applicable for each post.  No fee is payable for SC/ST/PH candidates.  Fee should be by Demand Draft favoring Reserve Bank of India and payable at Mumbai only.  However, candidates from un-banked areas may pay fee by Indian Postal Orders in favor of Reserve Bank of India payable at GPO, Mumbai.  Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of the Demand Draft and in the space provided for the purpose on the Postal Orders (if fee is payable) and enclose them to the application with a pin (should not be stapled).  Fees sent separately and not accompanied with proper application or payment in any other manner will not be accepted.  Fees once paid are not subjected to refund. 

Application in closed covers may also be deposited in the box specially kept for the purpose at the Board's Office at Reserve Bank of India, Opposite Mumbai Central Railway Station, Mumbai Central, Mumbai-400008.

Exam Details for Grade A Officers

Phase I :
  • Reasoning ability 
         This written test includes verbal and non-verbal questions.
•    Quantitative Aptitude
       This test is on aptitude.

•    General Knowledge
      This written test includes questions on general awareness.

•    English Language
      This tests your English skills.

•    Phase I is for 3 hours carrying 200 marks

Phase II


Candidates those who are selected in Phase I are eligible for the Phase II of Examination.

•    Paper I - Essay, Precise Writing/Comprehension.
•    Paper II - Economic and Social problems.
•    Paper III - Finance Management.
•    Phase II is for 3 hours carrying 100 marks

Phase I

•    General Knowledge
      This written test includes questions on general awareness.

•    English Language
      This tests your English skills.

•    Phase I is for 3 hours carrying 200 marks

Phase II

Candidates those who are selected in Phase I are eligible for the Phase II Examination 

•    Paper I - Essay, Precise Writing/Comprehension
•    Paper II - Economic and Social problems.
•    Paper III - Finance Management.
•    Each paper of Phase II is for 3 hours duration 100 marks
Interview
•    Shortlisted candidates shall be called for interview in the order of their ranking as per the marks obtained by them in the objective type test.
